Time, Density and Degree at Shep's Mound - April 2025

At Shep's Mound - SYD International Airport - time moves in parcels of air traffic, departures, arrivals and delays. But with the Sun past midday, backs to the east, a shadow at the mound's perimeter fence conveyed toward the neutral countenance of a disposable lid (up and over later in the afternoon) - an unsophisticated form of horology. Rain came too, heavily and briefly. The best-worn dips in the gravel quickly held the most water - a measurement in the holding patterns of spotters. In the carpark, the sun met a hubcap (14:20), forcing a luminous asterisk in the adjacent asphalt.
